RED SON

Set in a dystopian future where the world has lost its light and humanity exists in perpetual shadow, Red Son follows a community shaped by darkness, repetition, and survival. An unexpected encounter disrupts the order of this world, introducing the possibility of something they have nearly forgotten: light.

Created for CLI Conservatory, the film uses a fourteen-person ensemble to build a physical world governed by collective behavior, tension, and transformation. Directed and choreographed by Mike Tyus and Joy Brown, Red Son brings cinematic storytelling and contemporary movement together to imagine what happens when a single encounter has the power to fundamentally alter the world we know.
