BRITTON & THE STING — MAMA

A series of cinematic works created with Tony Award-winning artist Britton Smith and Britton & The Sting to expand the world of MAMA beyond the stage.

Directed by Mike Tyus, the project brought together music, performance, movement, and portraiture through a collection of character-driven films featuring an ensemble of performers, including acclaimed two-time Olivier Award winner and Tony Award nominee Noma Dumezweni (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, The Little Mermaid, The Undoing).

The films build a visual language around MAMA’s exploration of water, spirituality, Black identity, transformation, and human connection, translating the theatrical world of the project into intimate cinema.
